The present investigation was carried out at experimental orchard, Division of Fruit Science, SKUAST-K, Shalimar. The experiment consisted of three treatments on three cultivars of apple (Lal Ambri, Firdous and Sunhari) replicated thrice in RBD. The results revealed that foliar application of nutrients had a significant effect on growth parameters, foliar nutrient contents, physical & chemical characters, yield and quality of apple cultivars. The combined application of Ca, Mg and micro-nutrients resulted in better annual shoot growth, leaf fruit ratio, leaf area and number of leaves per shoot when compared with control and other treatments, without affecting uptake of N, P and K. Further, the leaf Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn and B uptake improved with the combined application of Ca, Mg & micro-nutrients when compared with control and other treatments.The studies revealed that the foliar application of nutrients improved the overall performance of apple cultivars with respect to qualitative and quantitative characters. Hence the combined foliar application of macronutrients and micro-nutrients along with soil application of N,P and K is recommended for the better performance of apple cultivars.

Thermoluminescence flat optical fibers have been proposed as a radiation sensor in the high flux radiation field, e.g. nuclear reactor. It is also used as the medical dosimetry for both diagnostic and radiotherapy applications. Subsequently, a flat optical fiber contains pure silica SiO2 and doped (GeB) optical fibers were selected for this research. The proposed flat optical fibers shows admirable linear radiation response behavior within the medical relevant dose range for all of these energies, high-quality reproductivity, independence of radiation energy and dose rate and exhibits a very low thermal fading. From these results, the proposed flat optical fibers can be used as radiation dosimeter and favorably compares with the widely used of TLD100 dosimeter in medical radiotherapy application.

The operation of circuit charger is switched with the operation of zero-current-switching, resonant components and appends the topology of dc-dc buck. The proposed novel dc-dc battery charger has advantages with the simplicity, low cost, high efficiency and the behavior of easy control under the ZCS condition accordingly reducing the switching losses. The detailed study of operating principle and circuit design consideration is performed. A short survey of battery charging system, capacity demand & its topological is also presented. In order to compute LC resonant pair values in conventional converter, the method of characteristic curve is used and electric function equations are derived from the prototype configuration. The efficient performance of charging shaping is confirmed through the practical examines and verification of the results is revealed by the MATLAB simulation. The accelerometer is used for the measurements of head acceleration when an injurious event occurs. Main requirements for such sensor are miniaturization (2×2 mm), because the device must be placed into the driver earpiece, and its measurement accuracy (i.e. high sensitivity, low crosstalk and low nonlinearity) since the device is used for safety monitoring purpose. A micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS)-based (bulk micromachined) piezoresistive accelerometer was selected as enabling technology for the development of the sensor. The primary accelerometer elements that can be manipulated during the design stage are: the sensing element (piezoresistors), the micromechanical structure and the measurements circuit. Each of these elements has been specifically designed in order to maximize the sensor performance and to achieve the miniaturization required for the studied application. To achieve accelerometer high sensitivity and miniaturization silicon nanowires (SiNWs) as nanometer scale piezoresistors are adopted as sensing elements. The interference between different plasmon modes induced on nanostructures generates PIT/Fano resonance at optical frequencies. The unusual dispersion characteristics observed within the PIT window can be used for designing optical metamaterials to be used in various applications including bio-chemical sensing, slow light, modulation, perfect absorption, and all-optical switching.
