The Impact of Rebranding on Organisational Performance

The study sought to explore the impact of rebranding on the performance of the Hotel Industry in Masvingo. With the costs and tasks involved in rebranding one wondered whether rebranding was worth the value to the ultimate performance of the hotel industry or whether it was a source of competitive advantage. In this study an exploratory research design was employed. The major research findings were that the rebranding was a product of the changing economic conditions, changing corporate strategy and changing ownership structure. It was concluded that rebranding was vital for it kept track of the changing business environment and the dynamic nature of customer taste and that a properly implemented rebranding program enhances better perceptions by stakeholders, gains market share and improves profitability of hotels. The major recommendations to the hotels were that rebranding should not be taken as a one off project but it needs to be taken as a process that seeks to align hotels to the changing business conditions and changing tastes of customers. In carrying out future rebranding the hotels should put in place rebranding plans.

This study sought to investigate the effectiveness of the rebranding a strategy in the mobile communications industry with Net One as a case study. To help in the execution of this project, the researcher set out five main objectives. These were to identify reasons that necessitated re-branding; to find out whether Net One’s rebranding strategy is in line with clients’ needs; to assess the clients’ perceptions in the past and present logo changes; to identify the benefits of re-branding that accrues to the organization and to assess resource allocation of the rebranding exercise to the organization. The church economics in Uganda

From the earliest time of the Christian church, economic resources were always a necessity in the growth and development though in varying degrees at different times. In the times of the apostles, a strong church economy was never one of the priorities. As the church expanded into the vast gentile world, organized church structures became necessary. This gave birth to the necessity of a strong church economy. Through ages, the members of the clergy and the church as an institution have increasingly become wealthy. Does this economic growth help the church in its spiritual growth? The church in Uganda has been made the case study. This work will give you all the facts you would ever need to Know about the church in Uganda from the time of its early beginnings to the present day across all denominations. This book is particularly helpful to all church leaders around the globe because it directly reflects on their institution and service. It is my intention that this work should contribute to the wider scope of knowledge, to the understanding of the spirituality of the church and to the general growth of the missional church. Mission of the Episcopal/Anglican Church in Egypt from 1918 to 1925

The History and Ministry of the Anglican/ Episcopal Church in Egypt is influenced by the mission of the Church in the years from 1918 to 1925. The first Challenge was meeting other Christians and assisting them in their mission. The Episcopal Church started with the view to support the Coptic Orthodox Church (the mother church of Egypt). The failure of the early mission and the complication added by the British colonisation called for the establishment of a model Church truly Evangelical/catholic Church. The second challenge was the challenge of Islam. How the church witness to its neighbours? Dialogue, Literature, Drama and training courses were the main tools in conversing with the majority of population to extend the hand of friendship and love. The third challenge was urgent need for social, educational and medical support to the peoples of Egypt. The challenges offer a model for unity, witness, and service for the church in society. These are the same challenges that are facing the Church today. This dissertation will help those who seek a relevant church meeting the contemporary challenges of society.

God And The Church

Over the years, Christians have continued to reflect on the nature of the church. These reflections have produced various ideas as to how each succeeding generation of Christians and theologians think the church should be understood. In this book, the author reviews the various views that have been advanced on the church and observes a missing link in the popular understanding of the nature of the church. He observes that the various ecclesiologies that have been written have not emphasized adequately God's presence and participation in the church. He argues that an adequate understanding of the church entails locating God within the church as a member and the head who runs the church from within rather than from without. He used the metaphor of clan to try to simplify this important theological truth. The author therefore maintains that to understand the church today, it is important to go beyond the views which tend to present God as an outsider whose relationship to the church is distant and who runs the church from without. Essentially this book is about God and therefore brings ecclesiology into the mainstream of theological discourse.

This book teaches the functions of para-church organizations in teaming with the church for this great commission. It addresses different roles between the church and the para-church and promoting unity. Issues discussed will surely benefit networking facilitators, Christians and theological students.

The Early Church is the Mirror for Today's Church

We live in a world of globalization. Those things which people thought that will not happen are happening. The things prophesied by prophets and Jesus Christ are taking place nowadays. A lot of church denominations have been started. Every church denomination has its own kind of teaching and belief. Every church denomination claims to be biblical in her teachings. Whether a church is the ‘true church’ or not is determined by comparing its teachings and practices to the teachings and practices of the New Testament church which are recorded mainly in the book of Acts of the Apostles. There is a big danger for a certain church denomination to put an emphasis only in one area of teaching and leave other teachings beside which are also important in the body of Christ. In order to have the balance, we need to notice the characteristics and teachings from the early church and see what we should be doing today. Specifically the study focuses on the Biblical teachings and practices of the early church compared to today’s church. It is my prayer that as you read this book God will minister to you in a special way. Be Blessed.Thanks.

Church and Media

The Orthodox Church in Serbia was revived with the partition of Yugoslavia and rise of nationalistic movements, during the early 1990’s. The revival of the Serbian church suddenly became a question of nominal national identity, so most new believers or rather – church visitors, started to follow that part of church tradition for ‘patriotic’ reasons. Religiously, always divided between conservatives and liberals, church congregations become politically divided into ‘radicals’ and ‘democrats’ in the 2000 year because of political changes in Belgrade. Due to the strict hierarchical order of the church, both discourses are, represented by bishops who are known for their political stances rather than for their ‘spread of the word’. They use the media mainly for political marketing and inner-disputes, and to gain supporters rather than more religious congregations. This research explores the layered relations the church and media have in general, how they use and misuse each other in Serbia, how the church is represented in the media, on what occasions and purposes the media are used by the church for its inner disputes.

No matter how the church may organize itself or worship, the defining characteristic of church of the future will be its Jesus-inspired countercultural witness. In this book, one finds the intersection of the theology of Christian spirituality and of catechesis. In it, biblical fundamentals are unfolded, the praxis of Jesus Christ and of the Early Church is elucidated and the Christian understanding of prayer is presented in a systematic theological fashion. The Church has three dimensions: ad-extra or missionary (the church and the world), ad-inter or inter-ecclesial (the church and other churches) and ad-intra or Catechetical (the church and her members). Father Davis focuses on the ad-intra dimension, namely catechetical dimension of the church. Is prayer an outmoded commodity? Is prayer really powerful? Does God hear our prayer? How is prayer related to imparting faith into the new generation especially in the context of 21st century''s "civil religion," and "Dictatorship of Relativism?"

Assessment of the Catholic Church’s Role in Marketing Agro-products

In this book, the author examines how the Catholic Church who has always been the protagonist of civilization and development, has influenced marketing of agro-products especially in the rural Uganda. The Catholic Church in Uganda has been found very vibrant in the education sector, in the health sectors, currently we see it in the banking sector as well as in the insurance sector. Can the same Church be located in the marketing sector? The author points out the importance of the Uganda's Catholic Church to be even more involved in the marketing of agro-products since over 70% of this population are farmers. The Catholic Church leaders need to know how the money that the Christians bring to Church, or to schools to pay tuition, or to the health centers for medication is made. What do the members grow? Where and how are the products sold. Knowledge of this information would very much help the Church leaders to respond to the marketing sector just as they respond to the other sectors like health and education. For without straightening the marketing sector, a rural Christian who is a farmer may fail to benefit from other services that the Catholic Church promotes.

To Be in Christ is To Be in His Church

Many people who are in the Church of Christ said that members of the Church of Christ are Christians, but not others as they pretend to be. In other words a person who is not the member of Church of Christ is not the real Christians. The members of the Church of Christ are said to be Christians, only on the basis of self-righteousness. The Bible plainly teaches that “salvation is in Christ” (II Tim 2:10, Acts 4:12) and that “To be in Christ is to be in the body of Christ”, which is the Church of Christ (Col 1:18, Eph 1:22-23, Acts 10:18, Heb 9:22, Rom 5:8-9). The Bible says “one God, one Lord, one Sprit, one hope, one faith, one baptism and one body” (Eph 4:4-6). In fact God is one and we are one body (Church of Christ for which Jesus Christ died). The Bible authorizes only one true Church of Christ which is his body, the Church which was purchased by the blood of Christ, as Acts 20:28 “Church of God, which He hath purchased with his own blood”. God planed this Church in eternity (Please refer the following verses, Eph 2:13-18, 3:10-11, 1:22-23, 4:4). The Old Testament prophets proclaimed of that one Church (Isa 2:1-4).Christ builds it and Christ is the founder.

This study is carried on the premise that the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the worship, social and development life of the church remains unsatisfactory. As the pioneer in work with persons with disabilities, the church in Kenya is expected to provide the best inclusion model programmes. The study addressed prevailing perceptions which impact on the inclusion of persons with disabilities; the social, theological and physical barriers to the inclusion; support services which could enhance inclusion; and, training and other interventions needed to improve the sensitivity of the church leadership to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the church life. Data collection was through interviews of persons with disabilities and a focus group. The study recognized that inclusion is largely impacted by attitudes and perceptions which lead to discriminatory and oppressive church and societal structures. It recommended ways in which the church could provide a social, physical and theological environment in which persons with disabilities may realise their full potential in the life of the church.

The African-American church was not only a religious place, but also a place where the African-Americans developed a collective identity. The end of slavery had created a desire to the establishment of an independent African-American Church, without being disturbt or being controlled by whites. The independent African-American Church brought the African-Americans for the same and common cause together. This church has played an enormously important role in the formation of a self-contained community, as many scientists have already investigated. This work investigates why African-Americans decided to create their own Independent African-American Churches immediately after the abolition of slavery in 1865. In addition it will look into the role of the Independent African-American Church in the African-American community as it particularly investigates the reasons why the African-Americans wanted to establish their own independent churches.

In this book you can learn about what happened to this church and its members - but more importantly you will learn about how this church, through its daily work were able to play a healing and reconciling role in the life of its members and to a certain degree, in the life of its local community. The book will also explore some of the general assets and strenghts, but also limitations and weaknesses, that defines the role of a church as a tool of reconciliation. The Church and The Challenge of Missions

The Church's Great Commission is enshrined in three great tasks: Going, Preaching and Teaching. In most local churches, there have been a paradigm shifting on priorities leading to a lost zeal in missions work. However, it is still the biblical mandate for the Church to carry on the Great Commission of Christ in a race against time in winning the lost before Jesus returns. In this book, the author discusses how important the biblical goal of missions is vital for the growth of a healthy, dynamic Christian and Church life. The first part looks at the Orders of the Church; the second part discusses the Obligation of the Church and the final part of the book looks at the Obstacles of the Church in doing missions work. True biblical Christianity should drive the Church out into the world of the lost and bring them to the salvation that is in Christ. When we neglect this urgent agenda on God's time-table, we lose the purpose of our existence as Christians. The passion that drove Christ to the Cross should be the same passion that drives us into world evangelism.

Rebranding The Church

The state of the contemporary world enforces on us a need for reflection on the mission of Christianity in the postmodern world, especially in western societies. The urgency is underscored by the fact that we can in this environment see the Christian message in its historical continuity from the Apostolic Age until now. What is more it is in western societies that we can see with some clarity the cultural consequences of the interaction of the Christian message with the society particularly in re-shaping the cultural forms and values of the society. It can be argued that western culture was transformed by its contact with the Christian message just as there is equal validity in the notion that the pristine Christian message of the Apostolic Age was also transformed (some may even say transliterated or distorted) by the interaction with western cultures and western societies. The hope is that we may in the process side-step the path that led to the Christian cul-de-sac of contemporary Christianity in Europe and North America. The most important challenge is to return the Church to its Head and Proprietor, Christ the Redeemer of mankind.

Effects of the Strategies of Evangelisation on Community Development

It is often taken for granted that the Christian Church in Ghana plays critical role towards community development. People usually tend to assume that the Church only exists to provide moral conscience for the society. The Church seems to have accepted this traditional role without striving to make its general contributions towards community development known. Though the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and its Akuapem Presbytery are major players in community development through strategies of evangelisation adopted, there is inadequate literature on their activities. This book provides documented accounts and insightful analyses of how in pursuing evangelisation, the Akuapem Presbytery’s activities had affected community development. The book provides insights into new expectations of the Church in Ghana and how the twenty-first century has altered its roles. This will help the Church in Ghana and globally to adopt strategies that will invariably meet the aim of evangelisation and the mundane needs of Church and community members. Churches, religious organisations, Church historians and stakeholders involved in advocacy and development at the grassroots will find this book very useful.

The challenge to pastoral caregivers in the event of sudden death

Death, and in special ways, sudden death has struck the church and various families at different times in our lives. The grief in the bereaved has challenged the church, in numerous ways including having to deal with people who are out of possibility with regard to the competencies of the church due to stress disorders. This has asked serious theological questions about the pastoral care of the church who is expected to be the custodian of healing through faith. Sudden death as a stressor, has grown to be more common in recent years, and having checked a number of church registers and finding out that there are more funerals than baptisms the church has to conduct, one looks and evaluate the effectiveness of the counseling done through funerals that the church has had to handle---whether there is still meaning accorded to such services or not---whether there is any attempt to engage the bereaved during their mourning in the sound theological reflection on to the questions: “Where, o death, is your victory? “Where, o death, is your sting? (1 Cor. 15: 55). Paul puts it in his address to the Corinthians “the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

From This is My Body to the Church in the Twenty First Century

There are serious problems in the Roman Church. The symptoms include a decline in participation in the Mass, a shortage of priests, a loss of authority of the Church. Appropriate changes are necessary in the life of the Church. For these to be successful tradition alone is an insufficient guide. Based on the encyclical Ecclesia de Eucharistia, this work returns as closely as possible to the understanding of the words of Jesus, "this is my body", when they were first heard. Thus it can is shown that the defining characteristics of the Church are agape, unity and service. This must be the guiding principle of changes to be implemented. Changes are needed in liturgy, sacraments, catechesis, mystagogy, theology, the structure and governance of the Church, its teachings, and evangelisation. In these areas serious effort must be made during the changes to focus on the requirement of making agape, unity and service the active and obvious principle that governs the Church. The road to be taken is not easy, however as the material presented shows, it is urgent. to set out on it.

MaintainingThe Centrality of Expository Preaching

MAINTAINING THE CENTRALITY OF EXPOSITORY PREACHING WHILE ADDRESSING ISSUES OF CHURCH HEALTH AT HARVEST EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH IN BEAVER DAM, WISCONSIN presents a model of leading a local church in the “40 Days of Purpose” by preaching expository sermons followed by a discussion on these sermons during the Adult Bible Fellowship. The “40 Days of Purpose” is a church-based campaign that was created at the Saddleback Community Church in Lake Forest, California, where Rick Warren is the Senior Pastor, and is designed to address five elements of church health: Evangelism, Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship and Service. This project will review Saddleback’s understanding of these areas of church health as well as the way they are presented in the “40 Days of Purpose” and present an alternative understanding and presentation, as well the addition of prayer as a key element of church health. As specifically stated in the title, this project contends for the centrality of expository preaching and as such, it presents both the philosophical foundation and the homiletical process of expository preaching.

FUTURE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pope and the first from the Americas, offers a challenge to his church. Can he bring about significant change? Should he? Garry Wills, the Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, argues provocatively that, in fact, the history of the church throughout is a history of change. In this brilliant and incisive study, Wills describes the deep and serious changes that have taken place in the church or are in the process of occurring. These include the change from Latin, the growth and withering of the ecclesiastical monarchy, the abandonment of biblical literalism, the assertion and nonassertion of infallibility, and the erosion of church patriarchy. In such developments we see the living church adapting itself to the new historical circumstances. As Wills contends, it is only by examining the history of the church that we can understand Pope Francis's and the church's challenges.

Challenges Facing the Church in not Ordaining Women Ministers

There is an increase in the number of churches that license and ordain women to serve on an equal level with men in church ministry. Women who have been licensed and ordained have made a great impact in the growth of their churches because they have used their God-given gifts and talents. However, despite this effort there is a persistence of prohibition of licensing and ordination of women in a number of churches today. This prohibition is negatively affecting both the church and women ministers. The author invites you to examine with him the various challenges that the church faces as a result of not licensing and ordaining women ministers. Furthermore, the book examines the role of women in the Bible. Theologians, Church Leaders, and all Christians should read this book.

Reggie McNeal The Present Future. Six Tough Questions for the Church

In this provocative book, author, consultant, and church leadership developer Reggie McNeal debunks these and other old assumptions and provides an overall strategy to help church leaders move forward in an entirely different and much more effective way. In The Present Future, McNeal identifies the six most important realities that church leaders must address including: recapturing the spirit of Christianity and replacing «church growth» with a wider vision of kingdom growth; developing disciples instead of church members; fostering the rise of a new apostolic leadership; focusing on spiritual formation rather than church programs; and shifting from prediction and planning to preparation for the challenges of an uncertain world. McNeal contends that by changing the questions church leaders ask themselves about their congregations and their plans, they can frame the core issues and approach the future with new eyes, new purpose, and new ideas. Clergy-Laity Synergy for Healthy Congregational Polity

Dualism and rivalry has been perceived as part of the challenges confronting clergy-laity relationship in the church. This seems to have been fueled by the perceived misinterpretation of the concept of priesthood of all believers most especially in Baptist Church with congregational polity. This dichotomy and rivalry is alien to the birth of the New Testament, but having subtly crept into the church, became a historical virus to the interpersonal and functional relationship that exists between the clergy and the laity. This poses a great threat to the unity, growth, strength and health of the church. The clergy-laity synergy through mutually valued relationship is a force that determines the identity, strength, functionality and the future mission of a local church. It is indeed a vehicle that drives a local church and determines her speed and destiny. This book is an in-depth exploration into the interplay between the priesthood of all believers and congregational polity as it affects clergy-laity relationship among the Baptists. The book is a unique resource material for students and teachers in Theological institutions, as well as members of the church in search of knowledge.

Until the introduction of modern secular education in the early 20th c, without interruption, education in Ethiopia was in the able hands of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Church scholars and priests were not only confined merely to the administration of education in the church but also served their country competently in various capacities ranging from political leaders to the lowliest public functionaries. Besides, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church was, throughout this period, the principal patron of culture and the arts. Ethiopia is today the proud inheritor of a rich tradition of maintaining various historical relics of antiquity for the simple reason that the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church has made considerable efforts to convert it into the repository of ancient literature and art for which achievement it deserves due credit. It is undeniable fact that the study of Ethiopian history seems difficult, surely incomplete, without the study of the history of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and its clergymen. This book provides readers an insight to the understanding of modern socio-cultural, religious and political history of central highland Ethiopia.

Imagining the Church in the 22nd Century

What will the Catholic Church be in a hundred years? A Church vibrantly witnessing to Christ or barely surviving as a museum piece? After Pope Francis, the author imagines the next pope facilitating the possibility of married clergy convinced that the Eucharist makes the Church. This is the easy innovation – there are already married priests in the Eastern Rite Churches and among the Anglican Clergy, who have joined the Catholic Church. What else can be imagined? More open communication with Jews and Muslims, reconciliation with the Eastern Church, genuine dialogue with the modern world, the appointment of lay men and women as papal nuncios, the appointment of lay men and women as cardinals and in charge of curial offices in Rome, especially those units dealing with the Laity, Family Life and Justice and Peace? Written in spritely prose and backed by extensive endnote-documentation, this book is an exuberant exercise in speculative thinking, providing inspiration to Catholic Church reform leaders and fostering creative thinking and action among the laity.

Elements of African Religion in Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria

This work examines the subtle ways the church and traditional religion in southwestern Nigeria relate. It shows that contrary to earlier opinion that Christianity and Traditional Religion do not have areas of relatedness, the Christian Religion in Nigeria is a product of the people's culture and worldview. Certain elements used in African Traditional Religion in Christ Apostolic Church shows that Traditional Religion and Christianity especially in Southwestern Nigeria in Christ Apostolic Church have their meeting points and they engage meaningfully when properly used. The appropriation of some natural and synthetic elements in African Traditional Religion and the church shows that there is a link between the two. The concepts of spiritual manipulation and protection enhancement are evident in the two religions.

A new home for El Sistema

The recent diversity of ethnic and religious backgrounds of people in Hammarkullen led to a merger between the Evangelical Lutheran church of Sweden and Swedish Mission Covenant church, leaving the Hammarkullen church empty. This paper presents the transformation and conversion of Hammarkullen church into a music school for the program El Sistema, an orchestra program for children. Through research and analysis of the church and the surroundings areas, including the existing facilities of El Sistema in Hammarkullen, a viable proposal was designed. The proposal takes into account from an early stage the acoustic requirements which have had substantial impact on the design. To better accommodate the new function, the church annex was demolished and a new building is added in its place where the rehearsal rooms are located. The church building also suffered some structural changes and an extension was needed to better suit a concert hall. The intervention should increase the area both culturally and economically.

The book is meant to serve three purposes namely: it would infuse fresh insight into the Church and readers' understanding of the Evangelical Mandate of Jesus Christ to His Church in Matthew's Gospel from an angle of Dialectics;while not neglecting the conventional idea the church has held on the text yesteryear.Secondly, the Church and Christian politicians are educated in this book and given an orthodox etymological interpretation on the concept of politics, its original meaning as well as its very essence. This knowledge will enable the Church as social-catalyst forester Socio-Political Transformation and good governance as aspects that have highly been neglected by the Church while carrying out the mandate. This, the author found out through redaction criticism as modern, analytical and scientific method of Biblical scholarship, is the other side of Jesus'Evangelical mandate of National Discipleship.Thirdly, this book would serve as a handbook for Mission-minded Churches,Students of Religion,Political Theology ,Biblical Scholars and Christian Politicians across the globe.

An Assessment of Possible Conflict Between Church and State

The study sought to investigate possible conflict in the relationship between Church and State in the administration of Catholic secondary schools in Zimbabwe. For the sample, twenty-four randomly selected catholic secondary schools countrywide were used. The total number of respondents was 214 out of 260. Questionnaires and structured interviews were used for data collection. The data were examined and analyzed using frequency tables. The major findings of the study established that conflict between Church and State in education has a long history and cuts across all cultures. The degree of conflict is not static but varies from one country to another and with time. In Zimbabwe, conflict was found to exist in areas of staffing, promotions, curriculum and decision making. The State has more power in all the areas of administration in secondary schools. Church and State are in partnership, though the terms are not written down. The Church wants a greater say in decision making. Awareness of the differences and scope of partnership between Church and State is important when evaluating claims that the Church builds and maintains schools and the State staffs, promotes and dictates po

HOMOSEXUALITY DEBATE IN AFRICA TODAY

Homosexuality Debate in Africa Today: Impacting on Ecumenical Relationships among Kenyan Churches, investigates the manner in which homosexuality debate in the Anglican Communion has affected ecumenical relationships in the Kenyan Churches. In analysing the data and classifying them into: homosexuality as a taboo, Biblical teaching on Homosexuality, pastoral care and healing, Necessity of the debate, Commitment to Church unity, Church links between Anglican Church of Kenya and the Episcopal Church Of the United states of America, Fundamentalism and ecumenical relationships, it is established that the Kenyan churches are not very committed to church unity and that they enjoy only a loose type of unity. And even though Kenyans, like other members of the Anglican Communion, have divergent views on the issues of homosexuality, their views range from ultra conservative and conservative to liberal and radical. The book further establishes that cutting links with the Episcopal Church of the United States of America for the Anglican Church of Kenya is not the panacea for the problem; rather dialogue is.

Socio-spiritual roles of lay women

Women roles in the church has for a long time been ignored. This has been based on the fact that the Christian culture in which the first Christians lived greatly devalued women. Men dominated all roles in the church starting from leadership to other minor roles. Women continue to be marginalized in church yet they constitute the majority of those engaged in religious and social work. This study therefore, aims at investigating the socio-spiritual roles of lay women in the Catholic Church. Specifically the study aims at examining the socio-spiritual roles of lay women in St Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish; to explore challenges and possible solutions in their various roles and to assess the future of socio-spiritual roles of lay women in St Charles Lwanga Hambale Catholic Parish. The study borrowed its theoretical framework from arguments posited by theology of reconstruction, feminist theology and structural functionalism .That is, lay women have taken active roles in the church and their contributions have greatly influenced the growth of the church and there is a lot to get from lay women roles as a church and as individuals and vice versa.

Praise for Whole Church «Mel is a thoughtful analyst of church life today. Best of all—he actually does what he writes about. This book can lead to new levels of engagement for your church.» —John Ortberg, author and pastor, Menlo Park Presbyterian Church «Mel Lawrenz's vision of a local church that actually reflects the wholeness and beauty of God as it engages with the Lord, one another, and the community is a much-needed call back to God's original Plan A – a plan that has too often been cast aside in the name of specialization, church growth, and expediency.» —Larry Osborne, North Coast Church, and author, Sticky Church and Spirituality for the Rest of Us «Wow! This book is for every Christian leader who wants to move their church from a narrow self-focus to active engagement in the world with all the resources and possibilities of heaven.» —Mike Slaughter, Ginghamsburg Church «While Mel Lawrenz's 'four kinds of engagement' aims at congregational application, it also creates a template that individual Jesus-followers can use for self-evaluation of what it means to be the church today. The final 'dynamics' section is worth the price of admission for church leaders.» —Reggie McNeal, author, The Present Future and Missional Renaissance «Having known Mel Lawrenz for thirty-five years in various capacities as student, intern, colleague, and eventual successor as senior pastor of Elmbrook Church, I can testify to his keen mind, his profound respect for and knowledge of history, his forward-looking curiosity, and his undoubted communication gifts. Add all these to his many years as a seasoned practitioner of church ministry, and the result is this very helpful book, Whole Church.» —Stuart Briscoe, author, Flowing Streams and broadcaster, Telling the Truth
