Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: The aim of the research presented here is to assess student satisfaction at the Aarhus School of Business (ASB) for the Summer University that was first introduced in July 2006. The European Performance Satisfaction Index (EPSI) was adapted to incorporate student satisfaction in order to reach this aim, and was used as the main approach in our thesis. The necessary data was gathered from online surveys we derived from the students. Two studies complemented this model. On the one hand, structured interviews were conducted with all relevant lecturers and on the other hand, a survey was conducted in two waves with Summer University participants. In the first wave, the students’ initial expectations were measured and in the second wave it was the degree of fulfilment for these expectations that were measured. Results from the EPSI model indicated that participants of the Summer University were satisfied overall with the program and will remain loyal. Surprisingly however, the variable image showed no direct impact on perceived value, satisfaction, and loyalty. The results from the interviews showed that lecturers were well chosen, but not adequately prepared for the program. In addition, the survey results indicated that expectations were to some degree fulfilled, but certain attributes of lecture quality experienced a negative disconfirmation of expectations. Furthermore, the direct comparison of data from the lecturers and the students suggested problems...

But the influence of personal characteristics of the teacher had not been investigated. Guided by Trait Theory of Personality, the study used a cross sectional research design, on a stratified sample of 350 students and 16 teachers in 10 secondary schools in Borama District, in February of 2014. The study found teacher gender (t [14] = -.276, p = .785), and teacher qualification (F [1, 14] = .578, p = .568) had no significant influence on students' performance. But teacher experience (F [1, 14] = 4.375, p = .022), and self-efficacy (F [1, 14] = 10.790, p = .000) had a significant influence on students' performance. The study concluded that teacher's personal characteristics influence performance of students in mathematics. The study recommends that MoEHS conduct awareness education to change the attitude that mathematics is a male friendly subject; and that an experimental study be done to determine the actual effect of teachers' personal characteristics on the performance of students.

Master's Thesis from the year 2017 in the subject Psychology - Work, Business, Organisational and Economic Psychology, grade: 62/100, The University of Liverpool, language: English, abstract: To enhance job satisfaction in an organization, it is important to understand how workplace properties influence job satisfaction. Factorial structure models assume that job satisfaction is based on multiple underlying (latent) factors that are not directly measurable. An alternative concept assumes that satisfaction with different job facets adds up to overall job satisfaction. As job satisfaction is dependent on culture, this study examined how the importance of job facets varies across cultural areas and countries within a global organization. An attempt was made to estimate the influence of an overarching company corporate culture on job satisfaction in different national cultures. The Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) was used in eight countries in Europe, East Asia, Latin America, and North America. Five MSQ-items were conceptually attributed to the overarching corporate culture of Roche, a global pharmaceutical company. Exploratory factor analysis was used to examine latent factors. Also, stepwise regression analysis was performed to identify the predictors of job satisfaction based on statistical significance. The average levels of job satisfaction were high. Within an overall picture of high variability in factor solutions, there were ten MSQ-items loading relatively ...

Bring pedagogy and cognitive science to online learning environments Online Teaching at Its Best: A Merger of Instructional Design with Teaching and Learning Research is the scholarly resource for online learning that faculty, instructional designers, and administrators have long been awaiting. Over 70 percent of degree-granting institutions offer online classes, and while technical resources abound, the courses often fall short of integrating the best practices in online pedagogy, even if they comply with online course design standards. Typically these standards omit the best practices in teaching and learning and the principles from cognitive science, leaving students struggling to keep the pace, understand the material, and fulfill their true potential as learners. This book fills the gap, providing evidence-based practices for online teaching, online course design, and online student motivation integrated with pedagogical and cognitive science to help you build the distance learning courses and programs your students deserve. As more and more students opt for distance learning, it's up to designers and instructors to rethink traditional methods and learn to work more effectively within the online learning environment, and up to administrators to provide the needed leadership. Online Teaching at Its Best provides practical, real-world advice grounded in educational science to help online instructors, instructional designers, and administrators deliver an exceptional learning experience. Adopt new pedagogical techniques designed specifically for online learning environments Ensure strong course alignment and effective student learning for online classes Increase student retention, build necessary support structures, and train faculty more effectively Integrate research-based course design and cognitive psychology into graduate or undergraduate programs Distance is no barrier to a great education; what do stand in the way are inadequate online course design and implementation and deficient faculty training and support—all of which administrators can mitigate. Online Teaching at Its Best will help you ensure that your online classes measure up to the rigor and quality of excellence in teaching and assessment, build in the personal touch for developing a learning community and equip your students to succeed in the next challenge.

A study conducted to understand quality of care and patient satisfaction from primary healthcare in Benghazi city. Quality has been defined in this study as doing right things right in a right manner at the right time with a right mix of manpower, equipments, space and management systems and subsystems. Patient satisfaction, the result of quality of care is the comfort level of beneficiaries in terms of care and concern shown by the facility. Beneficiaries are highly satisfied with the quality of care received. Two major significant variables associated with satisfaction are age of patient and selection of facilities. Those in younger age are less satisfied than others. People seek facilities at different locations and reach better satisfaction levels. This study concludes that primary health care facilities are working well effectively. But the efficiency of the system might be of attention in the coming years. This might be made through manpower mix, skill upgradation, human resource development activities and so on. Facilities might also focus on patient satisfaction. Provisions are made to ensure satisfaction of users.

Algebraic Identification and Estimation Methods in Feedback Control Systems presents a model-based algebraic approach to online parameter and state estimation in uncertain dynamic feedback control systems. This approach evades the mathematical intricacies of the traditional stochastic approach, proposing a direct model-based scheme with several easy-to-implement computational advantages. The approach can be used with continuous and discrete, linear and nonlinear, mono-variable and multi-variable systems. The estimators based on this approach are not of asymptotic nature, and do not require any statistical knowledge of the corrupting noises to achieve good performance in a noisy environment. These estimators are fast, robust to structured perturbations, and easy to combine with classical or sophisticated control laws. This book uses module theory, differential algebra, and operational calculus in an easy-to-understand manner and also details how to apply these in the context of feedback control systems. A wide variety of examples, including mechanical systems, power converters, electric motors, and chaotic systems, are also included to illustrate the algebraic methodology. Key features: Presents a radically new approach to online parameter and state estimation. Enables the reader to master the use and understand the consequences of the highly theoretical differential algebraic viewpoint in control systems theory. Includes examples in a variety of physical applications with experimental results. Covers the latest developments and applications. Those variables that generally attract teachers to the profession are not always the same as those that retain them and keep them satisfied with their career path. Therefore, the discovery of the teachers' perceptions regarding the factors which have impact on their job satisfaction may prove to be a very useful type of study. The influences of gender, age, years of teaching experience and requirements of the profession, including educational reform efforts, are considered as they have the potential to play a significant role in the teachers' belief systems. By providing multiple approaches for satisfaction enhancement, educational leaders may ultimately enable a maximum number of teachers to experience fulfillment within their career, which in turn may lead to students reaching higher achievement standards.
