Rupinder Kaur Kaiche Sunshine

Sunshine is a collection of poems that are bright and optimistic as the title. The different hues of nature are beautifully expressed in rhythmic charm. The different shades of clouds, the waterfalls, the rivers—all get a larger-than-life portrayal in poetic form. The poet makes us fall in love with the woodpecker, the whale, and the baby elephant. The poems describing the trees are very heartwarming. Surely no one will feel like cutting trees after reading these poems. All these poems send a strong message about nature conservation. This will come naturally since the poet arouses in us love and appreciation for nature. The poet seems to want us to enjoy and celebrate nature. There is a lot of warmth and understanding in the poems about father and children. The poet enjoys music also. She instills life in the flute and tabla as well.

Joan Baranow In the Next Life

Joan Baranow’s powerful new collection of poems, In the Next Life, reminds us that it is our passage through this life that constantly shapes the next. Our place in and passages through the natural world reflect both the questions of childhood and those few wisdoms we hope to share as adults. Always, the speaker of these poems (“closer to the end/than to birth, dreaming of death” she says) recalls a boy’s question: “How does light climb the tree?” In these elegant poems of daily mortal passage, Joan Baranow is also asking, in every line, how might we, each of us, slowly climb that light? These are poems of constancy and moral courage.—David St. John, author of The Last Troubadour: Selected and New Poems

“The poems presented here explore the themes that concern us all, regardless of age and country. Love, the meaning of life, faith, Time, our relations with other people… Poetry is a philosophical inquiry into one’s life. This inquiry, however, is of artistic nature, as we do not merely lay out our emotions and ideas, but we present them as an image, an allegory, which the reader has to decipher in order to comprehend and show empathy” – Julia Shuvalova.

Mohsen N Harandi MIDNIGHT CONNECTIONS

My first goal for this book is to provide a simplified English view of the deep Persian philosophies reflected in the masterpieces of Hafez, Saadi, Rumi and Khayyam poems. Over centuries thanks to amazing devotion of many poetic heroes, the poem lovers around the world have been introduced to these teachings through translation. I am hoping these master's teachings engrained in me since childhood would enable me to provide a different reflection of these teachings through my original English poems. In this materialistic world, their teachings can help us focus on the beauties in life to enjoy the privilege of living on earth while pointing out the smallness of the day to day stresses. Another goal of this book is to share what I learned in bursts of awareness about how life came about, the challenges we overcome to reach happiness, the role and majesty of nature, and our hidden yet obvious connections to the spiritual world. My last goal is to share some of my life experiences and learning on how love, poems, nature and optimism can make living brighter. Throughout these months the poems taught me some amazing concepts that I had not learned in the last 59 years. An interesting learning was that the poems written in the middle of night did not need essentially any correction and even somehow my Persian accent was not present in the rhythms! This is another proof for me that our subconscious has amazing powers.

This is a story that pictures a person with his old nature (Vashti) and being replaced by the new nature (Esther) and how the Holy Spirit (Mordecai) will with your permission (the new nature) preserve the Body of Christ and what was intended to be your death. The whole Jewish race became the fatal blow of Haman (the devil). God only works for us when we allow him to sit on the throne of our life and lead us as we yield ourself to him and die to self.

Marian Kaplun Shapiro Players in the Dream, Dreamers in the Play

Shapiro's transcendent poems explore the turbulent space between uncertainty and acceptance, hesitation and stillness, and desperation and hope - a compelling kaleidoscopic arabesque. She shows us the depth and power of life. As these poems press against the nature of things toward a fusion of self, our timid wishes become greater truths.Lori Romero, Cezanne's CarrotMarian Kaplun Shapiro has created a body of work that asks to be read first for its content, second for the musicality of its words. Her line breaks speak of the musician within; to the specific way she hears poetry before it is committed to paper. She observes the world of nature, often human nature, with an awareness that never intrudes or possesses. There is a sense of someone who has heard dark secrets, who inhabits life's precarious cycles with us; yet forgives all weaknesses, ours and her own. I have my favorite poems, but each reader will choose differently, like choosing a song or a lover, carefully, listening for each nuanced word.Colette Jonopulos, Tiger's EyePlayers in the Dream, Dreamers in the Play is a very, very smart book of poems. One is immediately reminded by the title of D.W. Winnicotts's groundbreaking work in psychoanalysis. And yet, though composed by a psychotherapist, they are clearly stories of real people going through the throes of living - and making a conscious? choice to view the world with (at least) one eye on redemption. Cheryl Bippus Pure Moments. Poems and short stories from a woman.s heart

Pure Moments is a book of just that. Moments in life that I don’t want to forget or experiences that God spoke to me through over the years. Sometimes, I would sense the Holy Spirit telling me to write in the middle of the night. The words would come and I knew it wasn’t me. However, it usually had to do with something I was going through at the time; things like motherhood, parenting, grieving, and marriage. These words would just flow onto the paper. I pray these poems remind us of how special moments can be. Whether it is in good times or bad, God will always be there for us. They may be words you want to pass on or express; however, didn’t know how. Words that will encourage you in your journey. It’s those moments in life that are precious. We just need to take the time to notice and capture them. God will bring us through, bless us with beauty, give us wisdom, or comfort us when we need it.For the joyful moments that come that we want to remember or the times when you need to know someone else felt that way too. May these poems bless you and speak to your heart as they did mine.God bless you.

Thomas Peter Bennett Encore Seasons

Encore Seasons is a poetic exploration of nature’s diverse moods and the web of life. The collection began when the author and his wife moved from their long-time home on Florida’s Braden River to an apartment in a large college campus–like retirement community in Maryland. There, Bennett experienced a new array of enchanting seasonal ecosystems and observed―while overlooking a forested courtyard and exploring nearby trails―the natural landscape as it evolved through the changing seasons. Concise and lyrical poems emerged from his observations, study, and meditation, with his poetic imagery becoming focused through the lens of a biologist. The subjects are nature, its plants, and its animals, from those on an apartment balcony to those in the woods and around campus as the seasons changed. Many poems morphed into metaphors inspired by the biblical admonitions “to bloom where you are planted” and that “to everything there is a season.” The poems are collected in chronological sections: “Prelude,” “Autumn,” “Winter,” “Spring,” and “Summer.” “Mockingbird Interlude” is a longer poem narrating the natural history of a mockingbird throughout the four seasons. Encore Seasons blends science, poetry and evocative musings about nature and encore retirement. The poems in the collection reflect Bennett’s belief that both the arts and the sciences inform our experiences and our appreciation in our unending exploration of nature and our own lives.

As each piece is laid down, you have the opportunity to think about your own life and what you can learn.Nature provides the setting for great reflections into the human drumbeat and God’s will for our lives. As we learn about the rhythms and seasons of nature, we learn bits of wisdom we can use to build more fulfilling lives. And no matter where you are on this great journey we call life, relishing in Sean’s experience of nature can offer a renewed desire to reflect and steadily build your own connecting trails.

Sandy Coomer Rivers Within Us Sandy Coomer Rivers Within Us Новинка

Sandy Coomer Rivers Within Us

Sandy Coomer’s, "Rivers Within Us", is a collection of poems that allows readers to reevaluate and question the way in which they move through life on a daily basis. What does it mean to live and die? What should we expect in life? How can dreams come true and, still, we are faced with disappointment? This movement is portrayed in settings that are saturated with images of nature and, in particular, the river; symbolic of the life force that carries us all. Coomer further creates movement and illustrates mastery over her craft through purposeful stanza breaks and rhythmic lines that plunges readers into each poem. Experiences and notions, such as love and synesthesia, become tangible through concrete images derived from nature and abstraction; ants are no longer just ants but are a device to belittle and inspire awe, praise and religion are brought together to create something almost physical, and dreams showcase vulnerabilities we would rather hide but cannot. Notions about life are torn apart and rearranged again through similes and metaphors that become more real than the very thing itself. All of these elements culminate into a collection that tries to make sense of life, death, and love through the swift and crushing movement of our passions that move like a river. Coomer speaks to all of this in just three words, "Rivers Within Us".

Rooted in the grit of urban Baltimore and the forests of rural Massachusetts, these poems remind us that life's tensions and polarities are energies we carry within ourselves. These are poems of witness and commentary, conversation and meditation. They offer moments of close looking, and of looking away; of loving, and of bungled attempts to be more loving. They call us to look long and hard–and generously–at our lives. Written with radiant honesty and fierce tenderness, they suggest a path of inner discovery where mystery awaits us in the ordinary.

Ian Siddons Heginworth, Ian Siddons Heginworth Environmental Arts Therapy and the Tree of Life

Environmental arts therapy and the Tree of life guides us through the Celtic calendar to explore the relationship between the feeling experience of the human heart and the turning year. Practical, poetic, innovative and magical, it invites us to make environmental art and ritual a vital and healing part of our lives once again and teaches us how to take the personal issues that bind and oppress us out into Nature where they can be met, confronted and transformed.

Elaine Heveron Not Every Woman Swooned

In Not Every Woman Swooned, Heveron reminds us that this being human is a gift, and that every act, every breath, every seemingly benign occasion is somehow sacred. With characteristic humor and humility, she gently guides us through a world made new by her love for it. Ordinary events are distilled into something significant and memorable by her always refreshing way of seeing and naming things: a spilled jar of honey rolls across a floor in a diner like sticky graffiti; after signing a book for a former lover she confesses I wish I'd written something obscure...Something like: 'Thanks for the blackberry tea.' This book is a song of praise for the world around us. Heveron writes down the world with gratitude, and as she says in "Moutin Reunion," somehow you got to go along. Lisa Starr, Rhode Island Poet Laureate Elaine Heveron's poems are so winning and persuasive that as you read them you feel like the character in one of her poems who is won over by music that has the appeal of a favorite / cousin on his way to the / beach / and somehow / you / got to go along. She captures the feeling of being simultaneously / both hungry and satisfied, and her heart remains open both to life's joys and to the homeless sleeping on our freezing streets in the winter. This book is filled with a rare generosity of spirit. Richard Tillinghast, Selected Poems, 2009, The New Life, 2008 Elaine Heveron's latest collection of poems is refreshingly honest and has a c...

Anne Richey Church of the Robin.s Ha-Ha.. John Burroughs. Natural Religion and Other Poems

Church of the Robin’s Ha-Ha!, the title poem of this collection, underscores John Burroughs’ essentially religious connection to nature. For the famed Catskill naturalist and writer, “heaven on earth” was no mere cliché, but a reality. His parents’ Calvinist preoccupation with the heaven to come, seemed to him tragically misguided and counter-productive. Still, as Anne Richey reminds us, Burroughs’ love for the earth was tempered by eyes determinedly wide open: yes, bird song enchants us, but somewhere a snake is devouring a baby bird. In other poems, all set in the Catskills, Richey keeps faith with Burroughs’ devotion to the near-at-hand – the sunlit and the dark: a doting mother photographs her two boys, a dog cowers in fear, a man appears to walk on water . . .

Richard Jarrette A Hundred Million Years of Nectar Dances

A Hundred Million Years of Nectar Dances is a poetry cycle of singular beauty in nature and reveals an inherent Buddhist quality. Jarrette's poems are clear and meditative, unfailingly beautiful. They are self-aware but not self-obsessed, singing with the ecstatic humility of a mystic or shaman as they join all the subjects of a life well lived within nature that is ever present. The poems dance and sing and play and rest with their subjects to present a truly beautiful vision of the world. The ending poem, "The Pond," is perfectly representative of all the others before it, and yet its impressive scope doesn't rob any glory from what precedes it. The poems create their own world where they solve their own problems, build memories, and speak to each other. Richard Jarrette's book is a manifestation of the inherent conversation between human nature and the wild around us that sustains indivisible mutual integrity and ceases at our peril.

What appears effortless to the poet--tra...
