Exact analytical solutions to periodic motions in nonlinear dynamical systems are almost not possible. Since the 18th century, one has extensively used techniques such as perturbation methods to obtain approximate analytical solutions of periodic motions in nonlinear systems. However, the perturbation methods cannot provide the enough accuracy of analytical solutions of periodic motions in nonlinear dynamical systems. So the bifurcation trees of periodic motions to chaos cannot be achieved analytically. The author has developed an analytical technique that is more effective to achieve periodic motions and corresponding bifurcation trees to chaos analytically. These examples, however, deal with spaces which are either disconnected or have dimension greater than one. By considering irrational time homeomorphisms of suspensions, this book provides examples of dynamical systems on 1-dimensional compact connected metric spaces with the required property. The analysis in the book suggests that conditions to extend the given result about Cantor minimal systems might need to take into account the topological entropy of the systems involved.

This implies that phenomena such as stimulus generalisation, which have been shown to occur in discrimination learning along many other stimulus dimensions, may occur also in discrimination along the stimulus dimension of time, i.e. in remembering. Data from operant studies with pigeons and hens have supported this. This book reports a highly novel finding, namely the first evidence for the occurrence of peak shift in a remembering process. When hens were poorly rewarded for correct remembering after a short delay, but richly rewarded for correct remembering after a longer delay, they remembered best after an even longer delay. This phenomenon was not predicted by any traditional theory of memory, and cannot be explained by the century-old standard construct of memory trace decay. This work will interest a wide range of researchers in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, biology, or anyone interested in challenging their thinking with a radically different view of the nature of memory.

Systems' Verification Validation and Testing (VVT) are carried out throughout systems' lifetimes. Notably, quality-cost expended on performing VVT activities and correcting system defects consumes about half of the overall engineering cost. Low-cost changes including emergency medical dispatch training in developing urban emergency health care systems can improve ambulance response times. Concerns about focusing on ambulance response time as a single indicator are addressed by showing a case sensitive approach for developing emergency health care systems that in return can identify ambulance response as main indicator for a particular system. This approach has been chosen for the subject of study, the Osh Ambulance Service, a municipal EMS in Kyrgyzstan. This particular service, the implemented research, the study design and, the data analysis are presented. This study estimates the effect of the unemployment insurance wage replacement rate on reemployment wages in the U.S. using the sample of men in the 1996 and 2001 Surveys of Income and Program Participation. I model employment search behavior in a dynamic discrete time hazard setting with three possible outcomes: finding a full-time job, finding a part-time job, or staying unemployed (continuing the job search). I find that reemployment wages decrease with the unemployment insurance wage replacement rate. Furthermore, the wage replacement rate depresses the prospect of finding full-time work while increasing the prospect of finding part-time work.
